The "zero tolerance" policy was adopted by this country's schools after the Columbine incident.

Roy Meyer, the South Dakota Director of Highway Safety, was arrested by the Pierre Police Department for driving under the influence.

Meyer has been put on administrative leave until further review. The department of Public Safety had this to say about the situation in a press release:

The department is very disappointed by the situation and is not taking it lightly. Mr. Meyer has been placed on administrative leave until the department has the opportunity to fully review the situation.
