Blacks and whites have definitely evolutionary differences over times.
Yes, in general, whites are smarter.. Look at those who graduate with college degrees. This is not taken from the fact that there are more whites than blacks. Take the percentages, per capita of whites to blacks, and whites still outweigh blacks in ratio form w/ college degrees.

But on the other hand. Blacks, are on average, more physically fit than whites. I credit the years of running from African game on the Savannah just to save their lives as the determining factor.

Last time I checked the only measurable difference between races that I had heard of what the black men, on average, had slightly higher testosterone levels (3 - 19%) than white men. Which is also observable in many athletic fields where black men dominate, again, on average.
Notice I specified average since if you watch things like Worlds Strongest Man it's mostly white men -- usually eastern European monsters. But then, body building is mostly black men these days. Which I believe there is also a higher average of fast twitch fibers in black men vs. more slow twitch in white men (power vs. impressive looking / fast). And still... that is only on average... Ronnie Coleman is a top black body-builder who is also ridiculously strong compared to any other body-builder that I know of (not at the level of a true power lifter, but still VERY strong for a BBer).

Pretty interesting... but has nothing to do with intelligence. I know plenty of smart black people -- the disparity has everything to do w/ society.

What I was thinking last night is perhaps the guy is correct.

When grading blacks against a white standard, then it is no wonder why they appear ignorant and the data would agree with this.

A better system would be success defined from a neutral perspective....Instead we try to mold different people to the white perspective. But I like the current standard, it works for me. Why would I want to create a new standard that would make me appear to be a poor performer?

Sorry for the ramble, it's hard to wrap my mind around this.

Just not sure how one would create a neutral standard either.

Nature vs. nurture, I would like to know under what paramaters or guidelines this conclusion is based on. I'm black, haven't had all the oppourtunities as others but on the same token, I have had more than alot of others, and I have an IQ of 131 where the average is I believe 80-90. So I dont know what inherit jean differnece could corrolate with his findings. Thats almost like saying, asians are smarter that White's. I think Nurture has a greater influence on intelligence than nature IMO

I was looking for an explanation.

Both in AP classes in high school and my PhD classes currently, the mix of fatherless children was about the same at around 30%.

Several students had neither and where raised by grandparents. One student had no family. He was a soldier in Liberia as a youth, and bought his freedom or somehow was free to move to America.

idk too much about this, but doing math and learning to read isn't black, white, red, yellow, brown or in between........... learning multiplication and division and reading young adults books............ there is no black or african/african-american way of reading or doing math; you just do it.

they're 11 year olds, why should we promote the positive of *** to them? I understand what you're saying, but I think at 6th grade and 11-13 years old the negatives should be focused on much more, you can still talk about the positives, but just explain to them that the negatives far outweight the positives, at least at that young age. But that's just my opinion.

***-ed in school is a joke, at least in the schools I have been in it has.

And to faulkton, if a 11 year old kid is going up to a counselor/nurse and say hand me the pill cuz i want to get my **** on, then yes i agree with you, at that point they are far too gone to just sit down and have a little lecture. Thus the reason I said it seems like this is a necessary method of handling the issue, but the fact that the parents dont have a right to know, I strongly disagree with.

The problem arises is this:

a lark is a type of small bird

but

It is also the name of a brand of cigarrette before smoking Newports was the "in" thing in the black community. Because young children in the 60s/70s where far more likely to be familiar with the cigarette (because in the 60s, you could advertise cigarettes on TV during the middle of cartoons) than the bird. I bet very few of us have even see a lark, but we are all familiar with Joe Camel.

The student then does poorly on the test, gets put in resource classes. Not because he is stupid, but because he isn't familiar with those concepts. Just as I did poorly on the verbal portion of the GRE. It isn't because I am ignorant, I am just not in a place where people use proper English.
