I've seen a couple of bostons around my area for a really good price. Not sure how reputable the breeder is but the price was right.

The breeder i got Lou from breeds bostons.... and i trust her. I would rather pay more and get a dog with known temperament and family medical history.

I hear ya on that one. But it's really hard to find a great dane with a bad temperment. If you find one thats naturally like that, let me know. It will change everything I know about danes. On another note, my dog does not like little chinese ladies. He almost killed the woman who delivered my chinese food a couple nights ago. I have seen danes with less than ideal temperaments, skittish and prone to get too aggressive (out of fear) too easily.

True, but you don't know if that's nature or nurture. You could say the same for any breed I suppose. I'd say if you treat a dane right from the time it's a pup it will never be skittish, or at least shouldn't be.

I think the next coat pattern i want is a boston.
Harls can look amazing, but they are expensive to get one that looks good (according to the breed standard of having evenly distributed irregularly shaped patches)... i am sure all i could afford is one with too many and too big black patches.
