i'm sort of wondering how i can get a cell phone.

I read you have to get a Korean to get one in their name.

I hope that's not a pain.

i'm also unsure how i should deal with my money.

I should have about 10K to bring with me.

I was thinking about just bringing some cash with me and leaving the rest in a US account, then opening a Korean account when i get there and wiring a few thousand over into the Korean account.

with the dollar getting so ****ing weak maybe i should have it all in KRW, but with my luck then their money would also devalue.

yeah i figured i would only exchange a a little at the airport... enough to pay for trasnport to the hostel, a little food, and a few nights in the hostel.

then deal with exchanging more later.

i am a very suspicious person by nature.

watch out for cocky american soldiers. some are cool though. it may work to your benefit to befriend at least a few soldiers. the PX and Commissary are good sources of REAL american products

thats what i was thinking actually. It might not be a bad idea to know a few solders, but for the most part i'm probably a lot different than most people who join the service.

So since getting a phone with a full qwerty my text messaging has increased dramatically. I had a little over eight thousand txt messages last month. Up 2k over the previous month.
