The internet is real. These are real people saying real things about real subjects. It isn't a fantasy world that disappears when you logoff. Your behaviour online can have an effect on you when you're away from a computer....unless you are able to maintain utter and complete anonymity.

If people don't like the site or forum, they can seek change on that site or leave. This thread is a form of people seeking change.

That isn't exactly how I feel...

I think that people shouldn't take it too seriously either way. You are always going to have people who are numb skulls and are going to do stupid things and you are always going to have the intelligent people.

Most folks can sort the ignoramuses out from the Einsteins. I do agree there needs to be a stronger enforcement system. There also must be rules, regulations, and consequences for actions taken. This isn't a free lunch hour or romper room as many people try to pretend that it is. But, alas it is the internet. If people are that offensive join a new site I know of several decent once which I frequent about once a week.

I come here for 2 reasons. The HT Section and the general entertainment. This forum is fast moving to the point where it is interesting but not where it is over whelming or tedious. Plus, I have a soft spot for this place since it is the first forum I joined. I do see how a lot of the good old members have gone away. I feel that You do have to ask yourself why have they gone? Have they moved on to new places because of the shenanigans here or have they just out grown this forum? Perhaps they have out grown the internet all together. That is why I post here less and less.

I have never really found this to be a very technical forum. I have more found it to be a mix of interneters and a great place for general knowledge and maybe the occasional discussion. Plus the HT area, for me, is always fun and light hearted. Most HT forums are way too serious since audiophiles in their 40 and 50 do not take anything with a grain of salt. It might be bad for their hearts you know.

hmmmm.... let's see if i can explain better without the banter....

1. odds of forum changing... almost none.....

2. this section is for off topics... meaning NOT FOR CAR AUDIO..... so i'm not understanding why people keep bringing up this lounge when saying "why audio topics aren't being discussed...

3. i have a serious enough life building and operating restaurants and bars... i come here for entertainment and to meet and converse with diverse people....

4. yes the internet is a form of anonymity... even if i tell you who i am and where i live etc. how would that affect how i interact with you??? my behaviour online has absolutely nothing to do with my life at all... you are taking things much too seriously...

5. lighten up... some people are so uptight here you could stick a piece of coal up their *** and find a diamond in a matter of hours.... most intelligent people can separate the idiots from the real people just having some fun... if you find an idiot don't read what they have to say... very simple... it's all a matter of choice... by complaining and whining about the idiots you give them more notoriety and they simply post more crap...
