Life is only 15 up to 50 years max, depending on jurisdiction. Usually 25 max. Thus the reason people get mulitple life sentences.

Was the murder justified? Only God can judge

it's a public policy thing...to make us sleep well at night because we think adding 3 years to a life sentence is doing justice.

If it was premeditated (looks that way) then the kid deserves to get the strictest sentence possible. The fact that it was a "hate crime" means nothing. Any lost of life at this age is sad but I don't feel bad one bit about the kid being gay.

they just made it a big deal because the kid happened to be gay if he was straight then there wouldnt even be a story about it, it would have been on the 10th page of the paper in the corner and noone would bother talking about it my homie got shot 12 times in cold blood and no one even knows what happened, no one bothered doing anything to tell people and get the person that did it thrown in jail its stupid that just because the kid that got shot was a ****** everyone cares, who cares people are dying everyday from murders but we dont hear about it unless it has someway of getting the people in the world all upset about it and make it a big deal was the kid right for doing it NO im not saying that he should be put away why the give him 3 years on top of a LIFE sentance is stupid just give him life and throw him in jail so im not saying it was right for the kid to shot him but it wouldnt even be a big deal if the kid wasnt gay and its stupid that just because he was people make a big deal about it.

lol. you obviously don't seem to know much so i'll help explain to you why there's 3 years on top. Life sentances DO NOT mean you're spending the rest of your life in prison. a "life sentance" is a certain ammount of years, as determined by the state/city/federal courts or whereever you are. so since he's only getting one life sentance, they add the 3 years on top for the hate crime, keeping him in prison longer.

although i don't claim to know the circumstances of your "homie" who got shot 12 times in cold blood, i'd bet they were quite a bit different than this.
