did the amps say the produced the same power or did you do the test at 1 specific volume level on your hu that you knew had the same output from each amp, dmm tested? Things that are louder ALWAYS sound better.Yep, all the same.
If it's a Class A amp, extra heat is a good thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifThe more heat the amp produces the better. Good amps convert distortion into heat so that the signal that reaches the speaker is "clean":fyi:

Sometimes efficiency isn't everything...
Same with S/N ratio...another overblown spec...

LP's have S/N ratios that are horrendous by CD standards, but yet with proper system setup and maintenance...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.giffor cereal?
Just look to see if it'll work with the rest of your system. Obviously, if it's in a car with a weak electrical system, you want to avoid current hogs. Get an idea of the internals, what's their quality like...is this going to last until I decide to get rid of it, or will it explode next week.so wat specs should i look at when shopping for an amp?
hmm...so i guess power is not really that necessary then. But more pwarr equals better sound!!!!Just look to see if it'll work with the rest of your system. At least that's what I do.
