why is the sub doing this?

my brother text messages me while in school and says the sub might be blown....but he doesnt know anything about car audio so i check it out and i did research about blown subs and stuff, when i got a chance to hear it it was just a loose screw....then he asked me if it sounds diffrent while riding around in the car and it does ...it just sounds a little bit quieter and i mean a little bit enough to tell anyways anybody know why?...thanks ahead of time

could be anything. used to how loud it is. sub breaking in. like i said could be anything.

maybe you're not playin music with heavy bass? i notice when i go from listenin to rock then to rap it's a hell of a difference in loudness then when i switch back it's not even that loud, i wish bass was more sensitive then the higher frequencies sometimes
