Why in the blue hell are my lights dimming when i have a 250 amp alt?

your not adding displacement of any kind, you do however boost the volumetric efficiency of the engine over 100%. Your actually increasing the dynamic compression ratio. For mine at 16psi I'm at ~17:1 compression ratio(which btw for my setup is all I can safely muster from 93 octane gas due to detonation considerations.
BTW top fuel and funny car are supercharged and run on nitromethane(hence why street cars wont get near the power)

I'd take a J-ported 13B or triple/six rotor rotary any day. There's a 93ish RX-7 that does 8's in the 1/4 and technically you can drive it on the street. Street legal, but would probably overheat if used in traffic. There's actually lots of them on YouTube...

Yes I did smart guy, it only did 600watt rms so i didn't feel the need to get a new one. The thread starter is running under a lot more power than me so take it easy and stop trying to get me for everything I say.

 
Id be curious to see a 4-banger street car, any make or model, run 8's in the quarter mile. Let alone low 8's.
I think some people here should go to their local track and see what it takes to make a car run 8's. Hell, run 10's. Double hell, run 12's.

first of all im not a kid and i didn't say it takes simple upgrades to make a car do 8's. The evo im talking about is a 4 banger but with a lot of custom work done to it.



put your american v8 ego to the side and open your eyes. their is more to cars than just engine size. Sure I prefer some jap cars over a lot of american cars because of the quality and resale value, however america has been picking up in quality a lot lately. I have nothing against some american cars but their are jap cars that do just as good.

 
While I'm not going to read through all 3 pgs of posts, I will say that caps can help. Those that think they don't just don't know how /why to use them. Caps can discharge and recharge at a rate that NO battery can do which is why in most cases it solves the dimming issues of head lights. Doesn't matter if you have a 100 ampere or a 300 ampere alt and 1+ batteries, the simple truth is that caps can still do things that batteries simply can't, discharging and charging at a fast rate is one of them.

right well you dont see any inports with that big of cylinders so its not a fair comparison to HP per cylinder. Going by cubic inches/liters you can get similar. But like I said you wont be able to compare as pretty much no one runs nitromethane as its so dangerous. Pretty sure the whole thing was about street cars anyway

you know the last time you got 30mpg was when you were stock! please!
actually my mpg has increased from stock thank you very much, as the efficiency of the motor has been increased. On top of that I can run leaner cruise A/F for better mpg(same thing I'll be doing with my DD shortly).

Oh and BTW I would easily be over 30mpg if I didnt have a 3spd automatic with no overdrive

So are you saying that a cap will fix his issue of dimming running a SAZ3500 with a stock single battery and a 225 alt?
