Why in the blue hell are my lights dimming when i have a 250 amp alt?

ya well i rather buy like a kinetik 2400 but those get up in the $200 range. I'm sure he can find a good C&D Tech battery thats just as good as the kinetik 2400 for like $150.

knowing this, why would you even recommend a capacitor? Hell even an HC600 would be better than a capacitor.

This is true, but if he is tight on money, i dont think that 50 farad is a bad deal. Never used one though and im not planning on it, but just an alternative.

Just throwing ideas out their. I will be using 2 C&D Tech batteries for my next build, so I don't need any capacitors, but was just throwing it out their.

I'm just giving high farad capacitors. Never used one and i'm sure many will hate on me for even mentioning capacitor but their has been a lot of people that actually say capacitors have helped with their dimming light issue.

saz 3500 needs real power supply, not a band-aid, if he hit a tone(s) and only has a stock battery and a cap, he is gonna see low voltage rather quickly, and smoke the amp. the caps will give power fast, but their tanks go empty quickly. A good batt will do the same, but will have the reserve to supply voltage through the tone until it can get a recharge from the alt between heavy loads

If he is running a stock batt under that much power than thats stupid lol. When I had my JL 12w6, I ran it on a stock battery and my lights dimmed like mad, I wonder how bad this guys lights get lol.

I wasn't sure if he was running stock battery or not and it was just an idea if he didnt want to spend over 100 on something. But I agree with you, a battery would be better.

check your big 3 and what battery do you have? At idle you ma only be making 125amps, so you are pulling from your battery almost immediatly. And even if your getting the full 225 out of your alt, that 3500 is ******* way more than that, so you need batts, like 2 hc-2000s.

the light dims when the subs are barely moving lol. I guess it could be the battery, but it seems weird for it to dim at such low output.

I can't be sending the system 1000 rms before it starts dimming like crazy.

i ran a cap a while back, it does help the dimming some. Not gonna lie.

Check connections. I had 1200 watts RMS on a stock electrical with the BIG 3 and lights only dimmed slightly at full tilt.
