Why does my Ipod sound like garbage on my brand new Eclipse HU?

Some mp3 players distort when reproducing music at full volume.

For instance the Archos V2 Recorder that i own...

I can only put it at 91/100 volume and it distorts above that, sounds 100% fine below 91/100.

Try touching it down a bit, see if there's a difference

Please note that this exact same ipod sounded fine on my Alpine HU at full volume, although it had a different wire. Also, i changed the source (used a discman) and still had the same results.

****! You listen to it @ 91/100? You must be going deaf!

WHAT!

If you really wanted good SQ you would get that adapter than allows you to use the iPods Line out, heard much better results with use of her...

I just want it to sound normal man, right now im not experiencing bad SQ, im experiencing a malfunction of some sort, im just hoping its the wire and not the brand new HU //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Gotta be the connecting then... get a new wire, if it is still ****ed get a new deck.

Well at 91/100 the head unit reproduces sound from the AUX in at the same level as a CD.

if I were to put the mp3 player at like 70/100 then i would have to crank it to get the mp3 player to a comfortable listening level, then when i go back to CD it's loud as hell

Guys, i already know its either the wire or the HU itself with the problem, no need to expalin how it might be the source becuase its not. I still haev like 12 hours before the stores open though, which is why i am curious

Ok. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Just wanted to make sure my symptoms sound like they might be wire related so i know there is a little hope. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

well test the wires on the amplifier input if they can be turned to RCA stereo... PLEASE turn off the hu before messing with RCA cables on the amplifier and put the ipod volume to 0 and slowly increase it see if it still distorts... if yes then i bet its the cable lol
