Why does everyone hate capacitors?

Big three is guaranteed to help (and even if it doesn't, it's a break even or get ahead situation) versus the cap probably won't do anything (break even or lose).

 
Big three and plenty of wire to your amp is the best place to start. Next up would be a good battery, deep cycle if you are planning on playing the system with the vehicle off. Then a high output alternator. Once you have the current avalable (alt and battery), if you have small flickers in voltage with dynamic beats, add a siffening cap if it really bothers you that much or you feel it is affecting the SQ of the system.

 
dude listen to these guys, they know just alittle bit about what theyre talking about, **just alittle**, do the big 3 first and go from there, chances are you wont need the cap, thats my thought but listen to what these guys have to say, theyve been there, done that awhile before youve thought about doing it, no offense intended man, just read and learn . . .

 
I mean in general, you're going to wind up replacing it eventually (if you're replacing an alternator, you can afford a new batt), so why not see if it helps at all? Trust me, I know nothing about this, so I'm simply just asking.

 
i would say go with the deep cycle since he already has a 140 amp alt, try it and see how it works out, also do the big 3 and it should be alright, no?
