Wanna deal with an online business that doesn't play around? Can you deal with paying full retail price?

Buy from Crutchfield. If your order is paid and processed before 3pm EST on a regular business day then your order ships the day you place it. If any time after 3pm EST then it ships the next business day.

As far as online vendors are concerned there is nobody I have ever dealt with that even comes close to the level of customer service that is commonplace with Crutch.

THE best return policy in the business, period.

All the free stuff they give you with car audio orders.

Every once in awhile you can actually get a CS representative that knows a little bit about car audio gear! (A nice plus but don't expect it...)

I love crutchfield as well, it's just a shame their prices are outrageous.

But if they were even close to being competive, price-wise, I would order everthing from them!!

Their prices aren't outrageous. They price their gear at suggested manufacturer retail just like every big box store in existence (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc). But as it's an online order there isn't any sales tax (unless you live in VA where they are based)

They are competitive as far as authorized dealers for any given brand that they carry are concerned //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I hear what your saying but I, like most people, just want to get the product we want, at the cheapest price available. There are lots of reputable companies out there like sonicelectronix or various ebay stores, ect ect that will give you good service with good pricing

Crutchfield has the best website, i do alot of research for products there but you have to admit, the bottome line is 90% of stuff you can buy at crutchfield, you can get ALOT LOT cheaper somewhere else.

When I say outrageous, this is what I mean:

Crutchfield pricing:http://www.crutchfield.com/S-pQUbcFXk8mh/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=120&I=500PDX1100

vs

OCS:http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?Source=googlebase&ProductID=17271

I like their customer service but not THAT much...lol

Have you or anyone you know ever had to use that in-house OCS warranty??

If so - how easy was the process? Did you have to pay for shipping back to OCS to get it fixed?

There are so many factors going into Crutchfield's pricing, man.

I had a Kenwood eXcelon CD player (KDC-X569) that started throwing a TOS Error with any and every CD you inserted into it when there was about 3 or 4 weeks left of the 2yr manufacturer's warranty.

I called up Crutchfield, they looked up my original invoice, and gave me both an RA# and a method of shipping it via UPS on their dime back to them.

With only a 2 week turnaround I had it back in full working order. Return shipping to me was also on Crutchfield's dime.

Would I have been able to do that almost 2 years after buying it from another vendor?

Not too bloody likely...

Or how about Profile amps?

Arguably one of the best Watts Vs Dollars budget amps available.

Can they be had via a myriad of sources cheaper than retail?

Of course they can!

Even if you buy it authorized retail from somewhere other than Crutchfield you'll get a 1 yr warranty for the amp.

If bought through Crutchfield, however, that warranty coverage gets extended to a full 3 years. You can't even get that buying direct from Profile!
