well this year at college i basically parted together a party system

1 Set of BSR floor speakers, they have a 15, 6.5, two or 3 3" speakers and some tweeters

1 set of Onkyo Fusion AV floor speakers, its a 12" sub and some other stuff

a Kenwood VR-305 receiver and a Dayton 120 sub combo

i asked B&W for a chat session a while back but he was busy so i figuered i ask the whole forum

i am looking to get just as loud, with just as "full" (i have 0 background in HT) sound that i am getting from these beastly speakers but out of something that i can part together from parts express and put together myself.

I am going to keep the receiver and dayton 120, but i cannot move around these speakers anymore, they barely fit in my car

so my question is...on a somewhat restricted budget, (this just needs to get loud, get low, and sound pretty good doing it) can it be done?

what would you guys suggest going with...i think for now ill just have the 2.1 setup?

thanks for anyone who can help out a HT noob

yeah but i think those are way to big...i want the big full rich sound of these older floor speakers but i want it in something that isnt nearly as big...sub bass is covered with my dayton 120 but i need some mids and highs

i bought 2 home old home audio speakers from a garage sale that had a old 10" sub a tweeter and a speaker (im not sure what size or specs it was, but w/e) well the subs were old and the surround was gone so i replaced them w/ 2 10's that i bought from anonymous user for like 30 bux and they get loud low n all that good stuff..................go look at garage sales, they have stuff u would never imagine for CHEAP!

oh and i got the reciever from a garage sale too, hella cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Mid tweeter Mid or a Tweeter Mid configuration.

These are MTM's

eh thats a little more than i wanted to spend...is there any way i could just do like 1 8" and 1 tweeter in each speaker cabinent and build them myself...and keep the cost low?

There are smaller BIBs you know, specifically the one for the pioneer B20 full range on parts express...8 inch full range driver. Lacks a bit on anything above 12k ish but you can always add a piezo for a couple dollars to help that...personally I think it would sound just fine without a helper tweeter if you just want it for parties...

Still fairly large, but not to bad, corner placing will yield output down to the 30s/20s...so no real need for sub if you just listen to music

Looking at around 50ish for the speakers, and up to 100 bucks or more in wood if you go with Birch, surely under 100 for MDF

Im running a set of floor loaded BIBs and I love them, they are only three inch speakers but easily go down to around 60hz and blend well with a subwoofer, imagine the 8, it would be insane...
