Why do you have a system????

its just an extension of the fact that i love music/movies.....so they should sound great...and helps curb the road rage......ever have a bad day then BLAST the slipKnoT...its a stresssss reliever for sure

It used to be a huge hobby for me. To build a show stopping system that would eww and ahh the crowd by watching the comps or sitting in my ride. Now I just try to get the cleanist sound I can. It is very expensive trying to do a nice sq system, but hey one day I will accomplish something.

I think one of the things I love about it is the pure power a 12" sub can make....just a 12 can tear apart a car if the box is built well enough, and it gives me something to do, something to learn about, Im just getting started and I find myself spending all my money just to make it better....I love to feel the bass and feel like theirs a party in my car just hangin out with friends....I dont know I love music in general and without beeling able to feel the music its like missing half of it.....now try and think of a world without music, scary huh?

and I guess one of the main things about car audio is its a hands on thing, sure you can have somebody else do everything for you but then what do u have to speak of when its all done, I like knowing that you have to learn something to make it good....altho I might need alot of help in the process haha...

I dunno and I guess about my friends....all of them want systems like mine but nobody wants to buy anything or put any work into it. they all want it given to them....I guess thats what seperates love of music and just enjoyment of it, because Ill do the research and spend all my money from work just to add new stuff to my music //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Another reason I have one is because this is something I am good at doing. OR at least I think so. But its something you can be proud of when it finished. Some people prefer painting or whatever, I enjoy car audio. Everyone has a hobby. Or at least most people do. Mine happens to be Car Audio. Its what I like.

My parents and all of my neighbors say that it is pointless. But i try to explain to them that if its what you like to do, then why not do it? They dont like it because the say its too much for them. or too much money.

Sure, its costly, but isnt everything nowadays?

I also remember the first song i heard on a system- 8 Ball and MJG - Look at the Grillz on my friends Two 15" rockfords. Ever since then Ive loved bass and learning so much about something almost no one my age knows in my town. I like having the best sounding system in town that I actually paid for on my own (as in except the focal/eclipse/zapco/jl systems that mommy and daddy buy). To me it is not a waste of money at all everything is resellable and hopefully equpment is rarley "consumed". Its far better than a non-materialistic hobby based soley on entertainment like haha idk Bingo!

there are tons of kids in my town that have brand new trucks w/rims, pain, systems, etc, etc, but i KNOW i have the best system that i've paid for...and when you think about it as far as subs and amp goes, i have the best $400 system in town......It's a feeling of pride to listen to YOUR system, and not MOMMY AND DADDYS system!!!! Next time some kid is showing off his system, ask him if you can hear what HE paid for!!!!

I got into car audio, when I was young, and ever since then I have loved bass, so I wanted to put a system in my ride even before I had a car, this is when i started comin to these forums, i learnt alot of sh*t on here, and how to do a proper install and stuff. I built my own single sub set-up, and man my setup is louder than dudes with like 4 15's, car audio is just fun to me, and I always like trading and here'in other set-ups, and i'm always learning new shit.

SQ is where its at
clean vocals....crisp/accurate instruments...transparent bass

plus I love that look that people get when they listen to my system for the first time

$800 including shipping...what ya know about that? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I love it, I am running a PRS-X720 and a PRS-X320 off of a 880PRS. I don't need to tell you how good these amps sound. How did you make that cool little layout picture thinger, I need one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

How did you hear about the PRS line anyway? Very few people seem to know about them. I found out on accident myself. Just stumbled across them reading reviews and thought they sounded good.

About 6 or 7 years ago my friend had 4 kicker comp 12's and they hit so hard I could hardly breathe when I was in his car. Ever since then I have to have a system. By the way those old school kicker comps were the shizzle.

Just another thing to add: my first system was one 15" eclipse (the black ones) on a pioneer 760w amp. When I first got it I thought it sounded great but if I were to hear it now it probably sounded like ***.

I just got a new vehicle, so I don't currently have a system. Anyway, I've always had one b/c I like the process of planning and installing the system. I just happen to be able to reap the rewards of a nice setup to satisfy my love of music.

I love music. It's that simple //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

.....ok and I'm a tech.-geek. I love good engineering.
I'm the same way. It's about becoming wrapped up in the experience...in my current vehicle, I've chose not to go all-out because it's simply not worth it - but at home, I want to be able to sit on the couch, spin up a record and just be there. Music is a release, music is a safe haven...and it takes a good playback system to get to that level of enlightenment.

The attraction to vacuum tubes is more of the engineering thing - I love that 70 year old technology still works **** well in the 21st century, and really makes it accessible to us. I love to get my hands dirty in these things, and working on point-to-point wiring is about as straightforward as it gets. There's a satisfaction of taking a pile of parts and transforming it into a working, glowing, rocking piece of electronic art that you just don't get from plain, nondescript black boxes you find at the local Best Buy or Tweeter.
