Why do you have a system????

I like to hear every part of the music the way it is supposed to be. I want to feel it and forget that it's not a part of me. I have an autistic spectrum disorder called Asperger's Syndrome, and like people with autism I am facisnated with sound and the complexities of hooking up equipment and the possibilities of combination of equipment.

When I was 16 though it was mostly about being cool.

i straight up love music, beats, highs, mids, and lows! I had a SPL setup which i though was for my enjoyment, but it wound up just anoying me. I got a lot of respect in my town and a lot of angry looks and i figured the acknolagement of my being on the same road as others was useless so i went for more of a SQ setup and it just makes music so music so much more enjoyable and makes me happy. Also a better thing to spend my money on than drugs and such.

GOTTA KEEP BUMPIN!!!

Mostly because I just like to feel and hear ALL the music. I like the massage as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The only thing about my system that "impresses" most of the people that I know to any degree is two things: (a) All the $$ I have invested in quality wiring and (b) That I bothered to stuff all of it into a wannabe Corolla //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I heard a fella that had what I thought at the time was the most awesome setup I have ever heard in a VW Fox coupe: Yamaha HU, Quart mids/highs on a Yamaha amp, and 4 Fosgate Series 1 15s in a Pac-Man wall on a big ole old-school HiFonics amp. Couldn't tell you what it metered but it was way loud in that lil ole car and I wanted a "big" stereo ever since then. My quest for all out SPL has gone by the wayside and I just want loud yet still clear. Certainly there is better equipment out there than what I run but it sounds damn good to me and that's all that counts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Most of my friends have an appreciation for good audio setups but strangely lack the willingness to do what is necessary to set one up. HUs that come from pawn shops with no care given to features ~ just as long as it will play AM and FM and CDs is fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif They'll use 14 or 16awg cabling for power/ground wire for amps with ground connections normally made to whatever screwhead happens to be handy (and then not understand why they have unbearable alternator whine?!?) Speaker wire runs made up of multiple pieces of whatever scraps they could find laying around and patched together with nothing covering the joints but vinyl electrical tape (badly wrapped in most cases) powering whatever second or thirdhand speakers of varying kinds they can obtain. Case in point my best friend's stereo: Jensen HU, Optimus 7-band passive EQ that I sold him, one Sony 6x9 and one Polk Audio 6x9 in his doors make up his front stage which is powered by some Logic SoundLabs amp and a pair of bottom-end MA Audio 12s that are being seriously underpowered by a Profile 440SX (that he also bought from me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)running in bridged mode. The wiring supplying all of this is so atrocious that it is literally painful to see and his RCAs are the cheapest that he could find at Rat Shack. He constantly asks me how is it that my single 12" in a car trunk is so much louder and cleaner than his two 12s inside an extended cab truck. No matter how many times I tell him quantity doesn't always equate to quality or even overall volume he simply doesn't get it.
