Alright Gents heres my problem.
I got a new 320amp alt and external reg. The regulator does turn on the alt but wont adjust it up nor down with the hardwired potentiameter. I pulled the pot from the circuit to test and it works both sides. Pot is 500 ohm and each side showed 564 wide open.
When I put it back in the system right side reads open and closed but left side reads 0 either direction. This leads me to believe its inside the unit that has the problem.
I originally wired it through a bosch 5 pin relay. Then tried direct ground, pos, field same result. I tried wiring direct to batt terminals up front the rear back bank etc... no change. It just wont adjust the voltage and this is a biiiiiiig problem as at idle its at 16.6v and you touch the gas and it shoots over 18v.
While this will be good for short bursts in the lane this is waaaaay too much for my cars computer etc...
Anyone with experience got any ideas?
