i have many times but i try not to. sometimes you need to strip some wire and are not around any tools. best way is to chew around the wire by spinning it in your mouth as you bite it repeatedly like a rabbit until you get to wire and then pull the wire out stripping the shielding off with your teeth. i call them my west virginia wire strippers.

I do it as well, but only with smaller wires. Anything else I use a knife to cut the jacket then pull it off (sometimes with my teeth)
