who spent more than they wanted on their system

what jl setup do you have for home audio? didn't know they were selling that stuff yet

only the $7000 2 13w7 thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Errr... Lets see... Amps, $2000, wiring, $300, deadener, $200, components, $800, Wood, $200, radios, $700, subs, $1800. So in estimation, I've spent well around ~$6000. Wow. I was guessing around $1500 until I added them up. A lot of the stuff were presents and some were great deals, so I wasn't that bad off.

btw.. bikejunkie, how ya like that V1?i`ve been realy thinkin bout pickin one up.
The v-1 and the passport 8500 are the only ones worth buying, and I love the v-1 telling me where the cop is. The thing has easily paid for itself 20 times over in the year I have had it- it just plain works. It will go off a lot because it detects everything in all signals mode, and full logic is good for in town, but who speeds in town? I prefer to get all signals and decide for myself what is a threat and what isn't. The remote display is a must-buy too. This way, because Valentine recomends placing the detector high on the windshield, you don't broadcast you have a detector at night to others who would gravy train your protection on the freeway, and gives a convienient mute button for in-town. Buy one- you won't be disappointed. I think radar detectors are one place you really get what you pay for.

everything i have including my system and truck i worked for. my truck was paid for in full and i bought everything myself.
What the hell do you do for a living? I don't know too many 18 year olds that have a truck like that and a boat too without parents footing the bill. Not trying to bash, just curious.

system wise... I'm under 1500, everything from the head unit to the wood included //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. I didn't get any amazing deals, I just made due with the equipment I had and chose wisely.

Enough to buy 2 world championships, very worth it 8)

Ive bought all my equipment for pretty cheap. My new toys are really good priced as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have had 4 cars in the last 6 years and a new system for each car. They have slowly gotten better. I am not quite sure how the new one will sound since it is going to be installed in about a month. All together I have spent about 8500. I get bored and want to buy something new about every year or when I get a new car I sell the old stuff cheap and start all over. It truely is and addiction.

Lets see in the last two years I have progressed a lot.

First set up was a lanzar amp and Jensen XS bass sub ~ $250

Next was a HF Bx100D with two Kicker CVR's in fiberglass ~ $550

Now it Alpine SPX-177R's in custom Kicks powered by an Alpine MRD- TR200 amp, Two Diamond D3's in custom Fiberglass powered by the Hifonics Bx100D, wires and dynamat, pioneer premier 760mp ~ $1300

as you can see in the last two years I have spent about $2100 on my hobby and I am a full time student at UCF.

I spent $382 for my system, havent installed it yet but i think it will do me fine for now. Dont really think i want to put an expensive system in the current car i have due to no alarms or anything. The only thing i think i should of bought differently was getting comps instead of the coaxials i bought. But the amp i got for free also. I also hate seeing other kids at my school get new expensive systems there parents bought for them. This one kid just got 2 kicker S12X's with 2 SX1250's all put in his navigator and ofcourse his parents bought it all.

Well I wanted to spend around 2k-2.5k, so let's see how it all added up

-HU - 320

-Horns - 330

-Midbass - 360

-Subs - 780

-Amps - 850

-Wiring (power, speaker, rca's etc.) - 200-250 depending on what I get

-Deadening - Probably about 200

Then of course the upgraded electrical

-250 amp alternator - 350

-battery - probably 100-200 depending on what I get

Adds up to about 3500 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Cant even imagine what it would have cost retail....
