i know i did, i started out not wanting to spend over a 1000, SX 12, viper 1200, premier 860 and some infinity door speakers, it was good then kept on going

XXX, power acoustik a3000, rainbow slc's, clarion dxz955, PA Ov2-400, added a 200a alternator, wiring and everything

then down to now a Mt18 and another a3000, add an optima blue top, and a box and boom ive spent way more than i started off wanting too, i got the SX last christmas with everything, now almost an exact year later i have the MT, so 3 different systems in a year:crap: i work hard to buy this stuff though, and everything is put i by me

although not a bad system for a 16 year old, beats everyones at my school

i would assume most everyone here, except the rich people. i planned on spending about 1500 on my system, but it got way out of hand. wasnt planning on a sq setup or anything, but once i got the rl-p's, i decided i needed a real nice set of components to compliment them, they sounded so nice. heres a breakdown of what i spent on my setup.

excelon deck - 330 off ebay

alumapro components - 370

diamond amp - 200

crossfire amp - 520

yellow top - 120

wiring ~ 250

alternator - 250

rl-p 12's - 470

kickpanels - 150

box materials - 50

sound deadener - 250

comes out to about 2960, so i spent about twice what i wanted to, and now im looking for a pair of the old xxx 15's to get even more crazy. the things we do for the hobby...

i would guesstimate ive spent ~2500$ maybe less but it could be more but the system is loud as he!!

Well I researched before I bought, so my beginner n00b system is $1000ish + some nasty customs fees.. I dont have a 2 chan. amp for my fronts yet.. I spent ~2500 for everything I have in my sig. I'd say I spent much less than I really should have for the equipment I got. Luckily I got good deals on everything I bought

I have about $2300 in my system listed minus the radar det. but I got the amp for free, so I didn't have to buy a $700 amp. I spent more than I thought I would or should, but it is an addictive hobby, just like my bike racing. The worst part is my system kicks *** and I can't help but wonder what I can do to make it kick more ***. Unfortunately now my eye is focused on the home theatre, and that's where the big bucks can be spent without even trying. Have any of you priced speakers? Holy crap! I used to think Bose was nice but expensive- that stuff is poor man's gear.

Home theater dosent hit me in the right spot now but later on it might, i just have a onkyo one now it sounds good to me, just a 500$ one

I have a Focal/Audison/Eclipse system, and no, I didn't think I spent too much. But my JMLab, JLAudio, LG DLP, home theater was a bit pricey.
