i dont know anything about car audio game and need some serious advice. i searched this forum for $500 systems, and found a few different things. i decided that this system looks like a good place to start. oh yea, im goin for SQ.
-my car (a 92 civic LX 4door) doesnt have tweeters right now and i dont know if theres anywhere to put some. on the bottom corner of the front windows right by the where the side mirrors attach, theres some panels that can pop away. ive seen tweeters in this place in other cars, but im not really sure if you can put them there. otherwise id need coaxials or whatever.
-that system doesn't include a head unit. i was hoping to get one for under 150. i don't want any fancy stuff, just cd and radio and good sound and hopefully some eq.
-do i really need a component amp at first? i was hoping to power the front speakers off the HU and buy one later when ive saved some more.
-ported or sealed box? ive read here that sealed sounds better but ported is louder. is there anyway i can build one with some sort of plug so i can try both?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

a few questions tho:1) David Navone 4-channel LOC - $35-Hands down one of the best line-out convertors on the market.
2) Comps: OZ Audio Vector Components - $115 shipped via member tplaya07
-nsgm13 said he hasn't been able to find a set that beats his CDT's because he hasn't heard these Vectors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Here is a quote from a very knowledgeable individual who is well respected on a different forum and who's very familiar with the Vector's as well as higher priced speakers when I asked a question about budget comp sets:
3) Comp Amp: Clarion APX201 - $68
-Great budget amp. IMHO much better quality amplifer that has a higher quality company standing behind their products.
4) Sub: Adire Audio Tempest - $150 shipped
-Very affordable and well performing sub. Proof? Quite simply read the forum....one of the best performing subs for under $300; and there are some who actually preferred this sub over their JL Audio W7 (currently the "benchmark sub" supposedly)
5) Sub amp: Clarion APX401.2 - $110
-Same as comp amp description
6) KnuKoncpetz Wires - Very affordable and high quality wires
