Personally, I think it looks dumb. I dont see why some companies do retarded things like this to equipment. Thats me though, I prefer simple looking items. Looks dont make sound...

PS: It's not 101 dB efficient either. Quad 1 Ohm coils wired in parallel is 0.25 Ohms, which equals 32 watts with 2.83 volts.

8 ohm = 1w

4 ohm = 2w

2 ohm = 4w

1 ohm = 8w

0.5 ohm = 16w

0.25 ohm = 32w

If you can find Fs, Vas, and Qes for that sub you can put them into the calculator found in this thread and find out the real efficiency.
