Yea i will have to get a new amp, i am looking into getting a JL 500/1 if i keep just the w6why not just make a new box for one sub.
that would be the least expensive option on my list but if you want two rl-p's then you will most likely need a new amp cuz the Kenwood won't cut it, imo.
But i could sell the w6 and my kenwood and get two used rl-ps for cheaper considering i will have some money to play with thenX2 it will be less than buying two new RL-P's.
I say save the money, build a new enclosure....you already have a better driver, IMHOAny other opinions?
See thats my problem, w6's cost more than most subs, and i am already in a little debt cuz i had to replace the motor in my car, so i was trying to find something for less money...
I wouldnt have to by the 500/1, theres a guy on another forum that wants to trade it for my mountain bike, a guy my dad has traded with, so i am working on that deal, then if i decide to get other subs i can sell the 500/1, my w6v2, nd my kenwood amp, then work on buying the new stuff with the money i will get for selling my current setup and the new 500/1lets just see how this would be cost wise.
For RL-P Setup:
2 RL-P's: No less than $450 shipped
New Amp: Need to give each sub atleast 400+ watts, depends on your current box. So no less than $250 shipped for 800 watt rms amp.
Box: $0, already have one
-12W6v2: maybe 250 shipped?
-Kenwood KAC-929 Amp: 180 shipped?
End Result: $630 +plus more ouput - some SQ
For single 12W6v2 setup:
12W6V2: $0, already have it
JL 500/1 Amp: around $400 shipped (better amps out their for cheaper, but hey)
New Box: $50 if you build yourself
-Kenwood KAC-929 Amp: 180 shipped?
End Result: $270 same output (maybe a little more since more power), same outstanding SQ

If you mean by similar, they're both subwoofers, then yes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifI heard the RL-P was similar to the XXX?
here is a comparison between the rl-p and the xxx.If you mean by similar, they're both subwoofers, then yes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
The RL-p, IMO, is not built for the same application that the XXX was. The power handling, motor design, enclosure sizes, and sonic character make them two very different drivers.
Thanks for the links...I guess i'll just have to see how much money i can get for the stuff i currently own to see if i want to try a set of something else..And is there only 15 and 18 inch avalanches?here is a comparison between the rl-p and the xxx. http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=83356

the avalanche is on sale and they have authorized the sale of their backorders, so you might want to hurry if that's the case.
here is a review of those as well.
