I hate to make a new thread for this, but I'm sick of searching....

I'm trying to find a good spot for a place to ground my amp....where/how did you ground yours? Also, where is the grommet for the 4th gens, I have a 96 Z specifically. I don't want to drill if I don't have to....

Thanks in advance....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

On my buddy's we used one of the bolts near the bracket for the hatch latch. Sanded it down and attached. Held tight. We found the grommet on his, a '95, on the passenger side firewall, pretty far down. With the V8 instread of the 6 in there may be harder to see if it's even still there in '96. Once the wire is through the grommet we could easily pull the passenger carpet and see it and pull rest of the way through. Hope this helps.

I drilled and grounded to the frame in mine.
I might have to do this myself...I grounded to the backseat bolt...no power to the amp as of now...thanks for the reply

is yours an auto of stick?
It's a 6 spd...

Thanks for the post...I might try the hatch bracket. I grounded it to the backseat bolt, maybe I need to sand it better, idk. I got everything hooked up and there's no power to the amp. Could this be due to a bad ground? Or should I at least be getting power even if it's a bad ground?

I did find the grommet and got the power wire through, it was pretty far down.

where you located in ohio? im pretty sure if ur ground isnt good then the amp wont power up.
I'm in New Concord, about an hour east of Columbus off I-70...

Thanks for the advice, I'll try to get a better ground...

***Update for anyone that cares***

Used the bolt by the hatch latch for ground, and it worked. Now I have power to the amp, but there's no sound coming from the sub. Don't really understand why. I re-checked my connections, they all seem good.

Any suggestions??

Just mess around with stuff. Some headunits need to be told that you're using a subwoofer so it sends a correct signal. Make sure your RCA's are plugged into the correct RCA output coming from your headunit.

Yeah, I double-checked the RCA's and remote wire and power and ground and speaker wire. I'll go play around with the settings now and see what I can come up with. If that's not it, any other ideas?

I was happy as shit when I got power to the amp, now I just got to figure out why the hell no sound is going to the sub. Thanks for your help dudes.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
