Yeah, its a pheonix. The artist freehanded the design on paper from my idea, then did an outline transfer. He had something similar done before, but it was a burning cross. I only regret not getting it bigger, but its a good size. That picture doesn't do it justice (I doubt any pictured here are as dull colored as the show). I think you made a good choice by going with the tribal instead of the "burning cross" looks good though. Doesn't the sun make a tattoo fade? I cover mine up with bandages when I go tanning to prevent them from fading.

Yes, the sun makes a tattoo fade just like most anything else. It's one of the reasons you go in for touchups every now and then because they do start losing their vibrance.

I like the skull tattoo but the top part of it is cut off, why is that?

i have a big goat head in the center of arm so the skull is cut off to blend inwith the tatt. i fvcked up big time with the god head because i tried to cover up a big tribal. im gonna let it rott for a while then pack some color in to make it look better. thats why you find a tattoo artist that you really like and trust. my other arm im just gonna do one big piece from shoulder to the middle of my forearm- no sleeve on the right arm!!!

I have three tats, one on my left thigh, two on right ankle,

 

there are no pix as of yet, and I don't really like to show them to people, if I wear boxers and socks you would never know I had any work done, thats the whole point for me

Some of my tattoos are over 7 years old with little or no fading......Got to get it done right the first time...

I never said the extent of the fading but some fading is inevitable. Over the course of 7 years, it isn't as noticable to detect the fading (however great or small it is), but I bet it it has changed to some extent over that time no matter how good the artist or the skin that is receiving the ink.

I plan on getting many when im able to. I have had a fear of clowns for as long as i can remember so i figure why not get a couple of clown tats. *These are no where on my body, simply from pictures i have found.

I also plan on getting my name on the underside on one of my forearms in onl english text, and My last name across my back in old english text.

I want to get more pheonix's (different looks, styles of art)....I also want to get my [future] wife's name tat'd over my heart, possibly a congi interpretation of her name outlined and filled in with some bright colored fire (as she is the fire in my heart).....don't know what else. I was thinking of maybe letting the artist who did my back tat, fill in a lot of my back freehand. He has some cool freehand drawings in his shop.

A little late, but here are some pics of my friend Liam's leg work, it was all drawn on freehand (linework) then shaded later. It will be finished later this summer.

I'll be getting my first tat in about 2 weeks. I thought i should update about my sisters tattoo because i know jack wants to know hehe. She has to goto the tattoo parlor on tuesday to have it touched up because when it was healing her dog jumped up and scratched some of the heart off. I will be getting a dragon tattoo on tuesday so I will post a picture of her heart and my dragon...BTW I love those clown tattoo's the one where the clown looks like he is crawling out is the best.
