Which Subs Should I Run With a MTX 81000d Amp?

It's been a long while since I've been on this website getting advice on my system... Recently I've purchased a newer headunit, a Alpine CDA 7894 to replace the non-mp3 model Alpine CDA-7893... I sent my MTX 8000 12"s back about two months ago, and haven't received them yet... I'm trying to purchase new subwoofers to run them on my MTX 81000d amplifier. The amp performed soo well for me that the subs were completely destroyed... Can someone lead me on to a more respectable, adn yet powerful pair of subs that'll work great for SPL? Thanks~! My price range for a pair is no more than $500...

If you want to be really loud and don't mind being unoriginal, you can go with two kicker l7. Either 12 or 15, whichever your preference. If you're more of an SQ guy, think about maybe a single w7...

1. hollywoods are good where your amp is short on power...with the MTX you have around 1700RMS on tap.......so ìforget HSL for this application

I can clearly see that you don't know jack sh*t about the Hollywood drivers, because if you did you would know that they are not designed for only low powered amps. If you've heard their flagship drivers in the proper enclosure and power then you would know that they are design to play very loud and deep in a small box. As far as power is concerned we a running in excess of 1100w rms per 10 inch driver on a regular basis without problems or failure of the driver. It's fine to be loyal to a brand but don't shut your mind or try mold someone else's to your way of thinking just because you are not mature enough except that a less than how dollar speaker or name brand can compete with all the overprice and over rated bullsh#t out there.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif :nono:

im getting tired of your crap, but if you look carefully, he guy

a) wants a nice SQ sound

b) there is better shit than HSL - if theyre soooooo **** hot, why aint soooo many people using them, like DD or sHoCkEr for example?

c) there are subs out there, ike the HSL, thatca compete up to a certain point with the big boys - like I said, have a buddy doing with 2 subs, 2 sHoCkErs, what you quote being done with like 8............

quite franly, im tired f yor cra and will n enter into any more correspondance...........

1) No I am not a dealer, just the same as you and everyone else on this forum seems to believe in and support your favorite subs ie... Re, adire, and others, I too have a favorite that just so happens to preform pretty **** good.

2) I'm not trying to push HSL down anyone's throats, but again when ever someone ask about subs on this forum, brahma, xxx, and shiva's get pushed on them like these are GOD's gift to the subwoofer world, you are giving your opinion on a sub you like that has proven itself to you are you not, well I'm doing nothing less!

HSL Is a very good driver for the money, it hits hard, low ad works in small enclosures.
