Which sub has better SQ?

I'm either gonna get a OZ Audio Matrix Elite 10.4 or a Adire Audio Shiva sub for a HT sub. Which one has better SQ? I'm only going to push 200 W RMS max to the sub. And yes, I know SQ is subjective, but which one do you think will have better SQ?

well the OZ's spider is partially detached which I believe can be fixed with hot glue / super glue. The OZ is gonna cost me $70 locally, the Shiva is $75 shipped. But then the OZ is a 10 and the shiva is a 12.

Super glue would work, but hot glue won't. We use a very expensive glue similar to super glue. However if the sub has been played with part of the spider detatched, the coil could be dammaged from rubbing. So if you do decide on that sub, I suggest making sure they will refund your money if the sub doesn't work.

sounds good. The OZ belongs to a friend of mine so he'll give me refund if it doesn't work. I got a question for you Steven. I recently got a Brahma 12, and I noticed that at higher frequencies, the Brahma doesn't play as well as when I lower the crossover frequency. Is this something you have noticed and if so, what's a good crossover frequency to set the amp at?

What frequencies are you talking about? What enclosure size are you using? The Brahma should play flat up over 100 Hz with a mid-Q alignment. However you really want to cross it over lower than that if your fronts speakers will allow it.

It's in a 1.3 cu ft sealed box. I haven't been able to play around with tuning as much, but it's just that I noticed when I lowered the crossover / LPF, it seemed to sound a lot better.

This is going to take a lot longer if you don't answer all the questions. So again, what frequencies are you talking about? Also, how does it sound "bad" with a higher crossover frequency? What crossover are you using (amp/head unit/outboard)? What brand and model is it? Also, what kind of vehicle?

I absolutely love my Oz ME... so I'm probably a little partial ;X. However, I have the 12.4 and a buddy of mine has the 12W7.

Sure the W7 gets a whole lot louder, but we all seem to think that my ME sounds better. When playing stuff like rap the W7 is the best sub I ever heard, but playing anything with quicker punchy bass sounds like crap. I can't explain it but its like everything is one big connected bass note on the W7, you can't tell one note from the other and it sucks. Playing the same track on my ME sounds much more detailed and clear.

Yes I know everything is install dependant, SQ is subjective, and whatever, but he has his in a smaller box than me, and its not the first time I've heard this about the W7s loud thudding characteristics. I have to say that the W7 is an incredible sub though, when you sit in the back seat and it hits... you feel like someone just grabbed you and shaked you.

Anyways, I just like the way my ME sounds more... and I think its an amazing SQ sub for the money.

I'd also bet that it sounds better and gets louder than a Shiva //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif I'd consider it in a different league.
