I could use some help!
I want to add a sub & amp to my system & I’d like suggestions on what to get. This car is a daily driver & I don’t need anything that is really high powered, I want tight bass & SQ over anything else. This will be the first time I’ve ever built any type of a system & I would really appreciate suggestions.
What I am running now:
SUBARU IMPREZA
Alpine 9833 HU, Front = Infinity Reference 6.5” 6010 Components, Rear – RF 6.5” FRC4306
For the sub, I’ll probably go with a single 10” in a sealed box located in the trunk. I need to be able to use my trunk; I’d like to keep the sub to a max of about $100. Opinions & recommendations?
For the sub amp; I was thinking of a mono between 150W-250W & I’d like opinions & suggestions on that too.
I also have another question: would SQ benefit much from an additional low powered 4 channel amp? The 9833 puts out 26Wx4; would it be worth installing a low powered 4 channel – say between 40W – 75W?
Finally – I’m married, have a mortgage, monthly bills, etc. I’m not in a position to rebuild often – it just costs too much (or I don’t make enough money). My system will be used while I’m driving & that’s all, & if it comes down to it I’d rather spend my $$ on quality rather than power.
