which speakers to get...

my friends got a 98 jeep wrangler, has 5.25" above him in the rollcage bar thing, and in the dash is 4x6. hes not looking for anything expensive, or components, just wants some loud good coaxiles thatll drop right in, no modding needed.

will be powered by a kicker zx250.2

85 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms

125 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms

im thinkin he can wire em at 2 ohms, power the front dash by 1 channel (62.5w rms each speaker) and the same for the top speakers, powered by channel 2.

what you think? i was lookin at some pioneers and other shit, but theyre all like 30w rms lol....

Look into Polk Momo525's. Hell, if you E-bay them, you see that they are selling those speaker bars with the Polks in.

4x6, I would go with the Polks as well.

MMC525's = 75RMS, but will easily take an 85 watt musical RMS.

MMC460's = 50RMS, you'll need to be a tad easy on the gains, but you can probably tune the amp to 70 watts RMS in the channel and the speakers should live.

Heck, if your buddy is smart with the volume knob, he can run the full power to both speakers, as long as he doesn't clip them, because the peak on the 460's is 100, and I doubt you'll be playing sine waves at full tilt for the crap of it.

Ohh, and if your a frugal shopper, you could get the whole setup for under 200$ shipped, and I know first hand these things are LOUD and very CLEAR.

Kenwood Excelon Coax's are nice...
Alpine Type S's are nice
will those take ~65wrms each?

also, can somone explain why it wouldnt be stereo if i wired front speaker to 1 channel and rear speakers to one, vs left side to ch1 and right side to ch2?

im just curious

look into some arc audio kar speakers, they sound awesome with that kind of power, im running a set of the 5 1/4's in my truck now and they sound awesome, and they can be had on egay for a good price, ive got an extra set that was used if youre interested in it.

I also like the cerwin vega hed series speakers, used them for a few years, good clean sounding speakers at a very good price, good luck in your search.
