Polk Audio MOMO 6x9

Polk momo's are excelent speakers. To say the rev's are better is subject to what kind of sound you are looking for. Polk's are a smooth sweet sounding speaker. I love my 6.5 coax's They are also very detailed. You can't go wrong with them. The 6x9's can handle alot of power so you should amp them acordingly.

dude listen....I have the same car as you do. Dont get the Pioneer or the Polks. They are nice speakers but the tweeters are too strong for the back of your car and it will destroy your imaging. Get the JL VR 6x9's. You cant hear the tweeter unless your sitting in the back of the car right next to them because its very week. The rest is all deep bass. These play waaaay deeper than the momo's or the Pioneers. I have the VR's set to all pass on the slope and crossed at 50hz and they sound like really fast subs. before i even had an amp people still thought i had a small subwoofer in the trunk. then i amp'd them.........teh ***! Trust me on this one guy. I will not do you wrong. I'm not some sailsman either. I work for U.P.S. Up front i run the JL XR components and they sound great. I know there are better speakers out there but I live and die by the VR 6x9's. Make sure you deaden all your doors and the rear deck of your car. Everything in a Dodge Neon is made of tupperware and your interior will flex like Ronnie Coleman if not deadened.

Hm, i just cant seem to justify spending more than about 120 on 6x9's and around 70 for 6.5... and how the heck do i amp them? i dont have that much $

The JL VR's are nice. But if installed correctly, tuned properly, and powered accordingly (about 70-100W RMS), the REVs are better to my ears. A bit better on low end extension. Any rear speaker can be slimmed down on the high end range by utilizing a LP filter.

What will make the biggest difference is try to go out and listen to some different speakers for yourself. They are your ears, afterall.

And if you need a decent amp that won't break the bank, give Profile a try.

not enough $ to pay through the nose for an amp. i can buy an amp but i dont like spending a whole lot of $ on it. ive already got too much in my subs and amp

EDIT: So im still wondering if i should buy them now or not? If i wait and still want to buy them it'll be around 300

forget what everyone else has said...
the polks r the best speakers in the 6 x 9 range of the ones listed so dar and hands down the superior speaker

Best 6x9's subject to your ears....not to everyone. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I know people that think and say that Polk is junk. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Enns... if they are normally $300 (grossly marked up, imo) and you've heard them and really like them, then there's no reason to pass this deal up. Go for it. The Momo's are a great speaker line.

Ignore this...the shop right up the street has both sets on its board to listen to and tweak around. You dont need to sit inside of a car to notice the VR's hit lows much better. They may run you an extra $30 but its worth it unless sound quality doesnt matter. I have the same car you do. If you put speakers in the rear that have powerful tweeters on them you may as well just toss your sound staging out the window. Now if you were putting speakers like the Polks or Pioneers up front then it would be a different story.

ill put them in and see how they sound. If they dont sound great i'll put them in the front. Mind you that takes some work to make them fit but i'm sure i can make them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I disagree....

When you go to audition any set of speakers, you need to ask questions like:

1. What amp is powering them?

2. How many watts RMS is going to each speaker?

3. How is the amp tuned?

4. How is the soundboard constructed?

5. How are the speakers mounted to said soundboard?

All of the above will affect how speakers will sound and those results could be vastly different than how they will sound in your car.
