I am a newbie to caraudio for anything beyond replacing the HU. I just bought a 2006 toyota RAV4 and a couple of weeks ago replaced the factory HU with an Alpine CDA-9856. The HU is great, but now I'm looking to change the speakers.
I have not done anything with the speakers and need some suggestions. I'm not too interested in adding a subwoofer or amp at this time. Really just want to replace the 4 large speakers in the front and passenger side doors. There are also 2 small speakers (tweeters??) in the top of the front doors.
The large speakers in the RAV4 are 6.5" from what I have read in the RAV forum, but I have absolutely no clue what are good speakers. Whether to go for Alpine or Infinity or something else? or Co-axial vs. component speakers?
I would like to keep the cost down, but welcome any suggestions you guys want to make. I just want good sound, but don't need to rock the whole block.
