which setup is better?

I was looking at getting either 2 12" IDMAX v3d2's or 3 12" IDQ v2d4's. I want great sound quality, but I also want it to hit hard. Will the 3 12" IDQ put out around the same output as the 2 12" IDMAX's, because if it does I would go with the 3 12's because the IDQ's are the better sound quality subs. Thanks for the help.

the idmax is alot like an idq soundwise except it can move more air. on a slight sq only factor the nod goes to the idq imo but in output i think the idmax would at least be equal to 3 idq and get narstier when needed....but i would also run the idmax differently than you would i would ib them for sq.

In ported enclosures, I prefer more cone area. In sealed enclosures, I prefer more excursion. So I'd recommend the IDMAX subs.
