Thanks, the crutchfield guide said to use 3/4" pan head sheet metal screws i was kinda weary, was just seeing what you guys recommend. I'll pick up some shorter drywall screws since the ones i have are 1 5/8"

So it doesn't matter that they'll be poking through an inch or so? I'll also use them to mount the speaker terminal cup and the port tube.

i use t-nuts....seem to work fine and its nice n easy to take out subs and put back in
