Not to mention cert to do rated power at 4ohm only and with no account taken for how much distortion it produces. CEA means not a darn thing but that the company paid for a worthless badge they can slap on the box and manual to make u feel good bout ur purchase.

Primary Output Power should, according to CEA2006, be measured with 14.4V DC supply, a 4-ohm load and with 1% or less total harmonic distortion in the output.

The kicker is most likely a little underrated. And judging by the way you talk, you probably have it wired differently or the bass boost peaks different on your ****** prefab box.

I agree with disturbed...No way will I waste $$ on a amp rated to perform at 1% distortion on a 4 ohm load at 14.4 vdc....that is shyt.

Gumper is right, cea 2006 ratings for amps are only at this: 14.4V DC supply, 4-ohm load and 1% or less thd

Its great for comparison purposes if you are running a 4 ohm load, but useless if you're not.

The standard also includes other impedance's.

Other specifications included in the standard involve different impedances and supply voltages. This is where the manufacturer can indicate the conditions which make their amplifier perform optimally.

I'm thinking I should just drop the $50 and buy the damn standard so we can put this to rest...lol

That I don't know. They don't give a ton of information on the standard because they want you to buy it...

The Kenwood wouldn't be CEA rated if it didn't output rated power, stop talking out your ass.

I haven't owned any of Kenwood's smaller amps, but both me and a pal have KAC-9105ds, and they're great amps. I don't know why everybody downtalks them all the time. For the price, they stay cool, and they're capable of giving their rated power relatively cleanly. I don't see the huge problem.

Ive had several kenwood 250rmsx2(different models, none execlon) and ive had a kicker zx450.2

If i had to choose again ide go kenwood all day. The sound was richer and fuller, subs were audibly cleaner. Just my opinion

^^^^ Testing was done with a JL W3 sealed then again with a JBL P10 ported both in a single cab truck. Me and my gf thought the kenwood sounded better with both subs

The funny thing is that both amps are probably made in the same factory by the same 8 year old chinese kids.

OP, neither are very great, but neither are terrible. Buy whichever one you likes the looks of or which offers you better support/warranty. If you have mainstream equipment expectations you'll probably be happy either way.

I think I've got everything sold. Now the hard part. Finding 2 good subs and a amP that pushes them good for 450$ lol. Possible? I looked at l7'sbut **** their expensive! More worried about spl ;o and mono amps are btr right?
