Recently got some gear that I had loaned out to a buddy years ago and decided to put in my volvo. kicker comp 10" and old kenwood excelon ps300t. anyway, what size in line fuse should i run, and also which gauge power wire? thanks

What are the specs on the amp?

You should run the same size fuse as there is on the amp. And if its 300w, then 8g should be fine.

8 gauge, 50A fuse.

Does 2x200wrms @ 2ohm

I'll check specs when I get home, thanks for the input though. I love the response time on this board! I also have a Power Acousik OV2-520 that i got for free. (left in a friends car when he bought it), I realize it's a low-end/cheap amp but would that work better?

so update: the kenwood amp appears to not be working and i'm not sure why. i put the power acoustik amp in there instead and everything is running fine but i'd still like to figure out whats wrong with the kenwood. when it's all hooked up i just get the red light on the amp(im guessing is like a protect mode?) it should be green, and it is when i first turn it on but then goes to red after about 2 seconds.

i've tried having everything else disconnected, no speakers, rca's etc and same thing. i've got a good ground too. any ideas? thanks

Bad news: If the only thing connected is the ground, power, and remote, and its still in protect: It's fried

well, dammit. i had let a friend borrow it for awhile and perhaps he failed to mention that bit? meh, no worries it was old and not really worth much anymore. thanks for the reply.
