hey

im looking into buying some better front door comps all i got in mind is a couple and i realy dont know which would perform the best with 75 watt rms and would give the best SQ i have a Phoenix gold Octane R 8.0 - 4

the comps i got in mind are:

MB quart refrence RUA-216

Infinity: Perfect 6.1 components

Kicker: 04SS652 - 16.5cm components

Diamond: D362.5 - 16.5cm component speakers

if anyone has any ideas on comps similar to these please let me know

thanks for the help

The Perfects or the MB's look the best of that batch.

Looked into the Alpine Type-X's? They aren't too terribly expensive and I hear great things about them (when used correctly).

Also, on the cheaper side, try to find Phoenix Gold ZR components.

i was looking into buying the alpine spx but how exactly do you use them correctly and would they sound nice and get loud with 75watt rms

whihc pioneer ones are those, also i read some reviews on the alpine spx and people have said they lack loudness even at high volumes so do you have any comps in mind that have that quality and the loudness

1. which pioneer ones are those

2. also i read some reviews on the alpine spx and people have said they lack loudness even at high volumes so do you have any comps in mind that have that quality and the loudness
1. These right here.

2. The Alpine SPX's don't "lack" loudness. True they usually don't get as loud as some other higher-end comps, but it's not like they can't be heard or sound muffled. Far from it! The clarity and SQ of the Type X comps are amazing...when installed correctly (decent amount of deadening, properly mounted and aimed, passives set up correctly, etc).

All the suggestions thus far have been good suggestions. But remember, it's all in the install.

about them pioneer ones, i read a review and the guy said they had useless passive crossovers,

also with the alpine spx comps do they give good highs as my current comps which are the alpin s type comps arent to good with the highs

I can't comment about the Pioneer passive xovers, as I've no experience with them, but I can say the highs on the Type X's are sweet to my ears. YRMV... it's subjective, of course. The mids and tweets are custom variants of Vifa XT components, the tweeters being ring radiators.

ok i was also looking around and the Mb quart PCE 216 are around the same price, so which out of the alpine and mb quart is best buy and will work best with 75watt rms and will give the best sound quality.

i would go out and listen to each of the comps instead of asking you guys but ther is only one car audio shop where i live and the only comps they have that you can listen to are the audio system PX-165 whihc i thought were amazing and had real nice highs

so its alpine SPX vs. mb quart PCE 216 which will be best for SQ

I'd probably summarize like so...

Midbass advantage (presence): MBQ +1

Highs advantage (clarity): SPX +1

Highs Harshness (shrilliness): MBQ -1

SQ off of 75W RMS: Tied +1

Score:

SPX 2

MBQ 1

Granted, these are strictly my opinions and should be taken with a grain of salt, no more and no less.

The Kicker SS is a very nice component set, but it would want more than 75w. The Type X's output is sort of low, however it makes up for it in sound quality... very nice sounding. The PCE 216 is a very power-hungry set. I've used the PSD-216 (model before the PCE) and it took 200w to really bring em to life. Any chance of upgrading in the future? But if you'll only have 75w, I'd rock the MB Quart RVF 216. They have good output and midbass on minimal power.

but would the RVF give a nice sound, and would it compare to the SPX in the sound quality

im realy confused with what comps to buy so would the RVF be able to give that good sound over a 15" RE SX and what would you buy if you were me

If SQ is your goal, The X's Reproduce The best when setup right. The MB's Q QSD Series give that warmer SQ when backed with there Midbass Speakers. The P Series like power But are a still a good bargin.

Any of these are going to be good SQ setups.

which ones out of the alpine SPX and mb quart give the louder output with 75watt rms and the cleaner sound, to sum up which would you go for if you had 75watt rms at your disposal
