Which Brands are on the rise and which are falling?

alot of forums said that the old brahmas, old xxx and a few others out performed w7's in clean low bass output by popular opinion when in general the opinion was solely based upon the price/and not being a common brand while tests showed the w7 was still the "king"...not saying people dont have a right to have an opinion but forum woodrows come and go (with and without reason). its through ones experiences that they can sift through the bs and determin what is good or bad themselves.

Probably might be the reason jbl component crossovers have harmon printed on the pc boards //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Pfff....of all brands on the fall, kicker seems to be the one. I hardly hear anything about them these days.
i don't really see how kicker is going downhill. they're products are of excellent quality (solid, strong amps), and the subs can take a beating (properly treated of course). the 06 subs were a helluva improvement over the previous models. they're still as mainstream as ever and there's a thousand questions each day about L7's or kicker amps. i hardly see them as going downhill IMO.

oh and Incriminator Audio is coming up really fast as well (not that they haven't been a great company, just now starting to get more popular esp with the release of the 40.1 and the soon-to-be warden sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

since i was 18 i remember that...thats when harman still made car audio under their name. heck when pyle was still a harmon company i seen Alot of jbl boxxed items there

Hmmm... Interesting topic. I'm going to bring a different perspective to this thread , because I'm responsible for determining what brands my store carries , and why. Our store is different from the majority of car audio stores. We are definitively high-end , and so we don't carry a huge variety of lines. That being said , we have to be able to have something to offer at most customer's budgets , as long as it's not lower than we are comfortable with , in which we refer them elsewhere.

Because we depend on HEAVY word of mouth advertising and referrals , we simply MUST sell brands that are very practical , perform WELL above average , and simply have almost NO warranty issues. If we run in to many problems with a brand's dependability , it is gone VERY fast from our store !!

Without doubt , there is a manufacturer that is positioning itself to RULE the market , and force other manufacturers to race to catch up , and that company is Boston Acoustics.

Their newest innovations , and up-coming top secret products are simply AMAZING !! Subs that can be completely re-built by the user without even taking them from the enclosure they are in ....

6.5" component set speakers with 1" total excursion !! Waaay more bass from a standard 6.5" speaker ... No more need for using a 7 or 8" driver for great mid-bass in the front doors. Means NO modifications and expensive labor to get the same intensity a 8" driver will give you , from a 6.5" one !!

And even more things yet to be released that I'm not permitted to talk about yet.

Simply put : Boston Acoustics actually gets " it " .... Giving customers waaay more for their money.

It's kind of ironic this was brought up at this time , as I have actually been planning to write an article on my somewhat suprising experience with Boston amplifiers over the last 6 months. Look for that tonight.

Cheers !

before they bought crown they were in the ~36 dollar a share range...i wish i was old enough to cash in and buy me about 50 shares of that stock - i'd be sittin VERY pretty right now

Clearly you have never seen the Adire Extremis or Tang Band drivers that have accomplished this very feat for nearly 2 years. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
