which battery

My battery under my hood is starting to go down. i have a 2000 ford explorer, stock electrical. I have a Md2d with 2 Kicker L5 12's wired to 2 ohm. When the base hits all my leds and my headlights flicker and my battery meter goes down a bit. What would be the best battery for around $100 for my senerio. I dont know weather i could just take the battery out and charge it somehow, and do big 3. If battery is the best solution then which one for around $100

You will not find much of a good battery for $100, your first job should be doing the Big 3upgrade under the hood.

I would do the big 3 and add a sealed agm cell in back. That would more than likely be your cheapest fix but it wouldnt keep you at 14+ volts it would stop your voltage from getting too low. Something around the size of a kinetik hc1200 would be the smallest I would go.

if thats a merlin 1500 amp 1 hc600 should be way more than enough maybe a hc800.

ford alts are strong on explorers. i sell the bt20 ( hc600 ) for 85 shipped to most states

or the bt35 ( hc800 ) for 125

use it as a second battery at the amp.

i would just buy new if i was you , unless your close enough to pick up a used battery from a member here and beat freight

if you budget is $100 will be hard to get new for that

but for $150

you can get a new optima full size

a new kintec a smaller one

a new stinger yellow a smaller one

a power master the smaller one

yellow tops **** for anything but a main battery anyway they are hybrids not a true AGM

I'll give you two Kinetik HC600 equivalent sealed AGM batteries for 110 shipped (Werker brand). They are brand new, look through my pictures to see what they look like if you are interested. I ran my stock batt up front, big 3 and two in the rear and my voltage never dipped below 12.3V doing ~2400RMS at full bore (Orion 2500D @ 1.1-1.2ohm)

2. do not even think of buying a used battery without getting it load tested first
