Which Amps are the "best"?

I am considering spending a ton of money for a set up in my car. I am going to be running some rainbow comps, the GERMS in the doors, another set of comps for fill in the back seat, ill just use some diamonds i have laying around. What I am torn between are the amps to power everything. I have a type x 12 that i had in my car before, ok its not the bomb, but it has good sq and gets loud enough for me. Right now. I have a massive audio p1500.1 and a jbl 1201.1, trying to sell both because id like to get some sweet amps... ARC is what i am currently looking at, biddingon some SE series on ebay, they are a little bit pricey so I more than likely wont win, next in line for me are the FD series, the foose ones. Anyways, I need about 1100 rms for the sub and Id say a 4 channel with about 110 per channel or so, so that i can bridge for the comps... other than ARC and zapco, what brands do you recommend? I am looking for performance as well as looks because they will be displayed... thanks

Have fun getting really any SE's for under $700 new. If u can get ur hands on some Tru Tech. Helix, Brax, Audison, I think the DLS's are pretty good too. There's quite a few companies but have fun spending that money.

I am looking to spend around 600-700 per amp maximum. I can get the FD series for that much, but the SE are going for way more than that, figured id bid on them anyway...

Check out the xxk's, although they dont look as nice as the se series they were the top of the line a year or two ago. The cxls are the same thing with different cases and are really nice looking amps, very basic and simple.

There is a work of difference between the SE's and the XXKs.

And, to be honest, the FDs are a better made amp as well. Much higher damping factor. Yadda yadda. I hate the endcaps and logo... but they look pretty sweet bare! *coming from someone who has both the XXK AND the FD in his car*

DLS should be another option.

True but they would be much easier to find in his price range and are still better than most. I also dont really like the looks of the FDs or the xxk's for that matter.

The kicker sx is a good amp. Definately alot of functions. I love the crossovers in them.

Their SX series amplifier are excellent if you need built-in DSP.

As are the Zapco DC series, though I'm not sure off hand if the DC are within your budget range.

Zed Audio and Sundown Audio are great if you are looking for excellent amplifiers that are a little off the beaten path.

Alpine PDX series are great if you need efficiency and small space. Plus I love the looks, personally.

The JBL Power series are excellent amps aswell.

Then ofcourse amps like DLS, Helix, etc.

what about JL?

Excellent option aswell.

The Slash series are solid amplifiers.

Boston Acoustics amplifiers are nice aswell.
