Which amp would have better sq?

like i said it's been a long ongoing debate between the class of subs. like some will say tube amps sound better then anything on the market. it's one that each person can only judge for their ownselves. which is why i stated my experience. and the op wanting to run ID subs which are very effiencent in themselves i'd recommend an ab amp over a d

You can not hear the "class" of the amplifier.

Anyone who's ever attempted to do so in a controlled, scientifically valid experiment has failed.

What you heard in your driveway is irrelevant as there is a very, very high probability that the variables were not isolated correctly to where you could attribute any change in sound you heard (or think you heard) to one specific variable; i.e. the class of the amplifier. Yes, that's right. I said you're "personal experience" and opinion is invalid, inconclusive, and irrelevant.

never said you can hear the "class" of an amp and as i also said that it is a long going debate so this being a forum and on the net you saying my "personal experience" and opinion is invalid, inconclusive, and irrelevant, is invalid, inconclusive, and irrelevant. he asked an opinion and as far as i'm concerned so is yours.

for better sq go with the ab amp i went from class d to ab and noticed a big difference
ditto

Just replaced a pdx-5 w/ a jl 300/2 & it made a noticeable difference to my front stage. You wouldn't have thought it possible, as the pdx sound very clean. But the jl sounds better in all aspects. I wouldn't expect an audible difference from a sub stage though.

we're talking sub amps here. difference between a class d and a class ab

......

class ab amps do sound better then class d amps

you saying my "personal experience" and opinion is invalid, inconclusive, and irrelevant, is invalid, inconclusive, and irrelevant.
False.

You are deriving conclusions from invalid experiments. That simple. You're opinion is invalid, inconclusive and irrelevant as a result.....my pointing this out is quite valid and relevant as someone may ignorantly believe you're failed driveway experimentation.

never said it was an experiment said i just traded amps. what i think is ignorant is that your saying my opinion is false when i've always stated it's my opinion. me saying that ab amps sound better then class d amps is my opinion. please forgive me if i didn't type the necessary IMO. but to say someone is wrong in there opinion is a bit upity.

Yeah, the class isn't gonna be audible in the sub frequencies. The more efficient class d is the way to go for a sub amp. But I'll stick w/ a class a/b up front.
i always thought that too. i did hear xtant 1.1 amps though up front, and was extremely impressed. love to get my hands on 2 of those.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif now i'm affraid i'm going to have to disagree there. amp choice does make a difference granted the right install and good tuning does alot of work amp choice does make a diffrence.
