Which Alpine Type R's to get newer or older?

i will be running 2 12" alpine type r's on a kicker 1000.1. What type r's should i get and why. i am looking at the newer ones with the ribbed surround, and the older ones with the regular style surround. thanks

i have an old ten inch type-r with the normal surround. she's going on 5+ years now, still holdin up. she's in my ghetto HT enclosure right now.

its gonna take more than 500 watts each to really get the ribbed ones moving. At least 750 each
