Yeah, it's huge and was custom built to fit perfectly in my trunk, which it does. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Yea so that's way off size wise for one twelve, that twelve hole would be a good window mount and put an 18 on the top or something but **** that's a waste of trunk

Hey, it sounds amazing and I love it. I can't put a 18 in there it is snug against the top of the trunk, not to forget a 18 will not be anywhere near as tight and clean as a 12 will. I understand it's way bigger than it needs to be but I love the shock factor when I tell people it's a single 12 in **** near 8 cu. ft.

I've always heard SQ-wise a 18 will not be as punchy as smaller woofers but more boomy sounding.
It just seems pointless to explain because you're trying to justify an enclosure that would fit two of your subs and still sound great vice just one. I'd understand 7 cubes if you were tuning to, say, 25Hz, but not for a daily system.

But it has already been said. The enclosure determines the sub's output and articulation. Those who complain about boomy subs aren't designing the right enclosures for them. You do have a tradeoff of lower extension at the expense of a slightly less upper-end extension. The size, however, has nothing to do with SQ.

I'm a fuggin newb compared to the other guys commenting here and I even know that you need to turn in ur gear and walk away or stop talking and research as I have for the last 4 months tirelessly before you open it again, I had to be put in my place by these guys and now its your turn

Generally boomy subwoofers are subs in too big a box or with too high of tuning, or both. Sub size doesn't inherently effect your frequency response, which is what makes subs sound boomy. My last 15 could be used well into the midrange frequencies if not for the aluminum cone having breakup issues if you wanted and my 21 now is clean well into the midbass, 300-500hz before it would begin to break up. No major breakups even beyond that, but it's audiophile grade up till 300. Far beyond what most car subs will do regardless of size.

Or 3 XFL 12s for around $600 new
Why the no to Sundown and DD, though?
OP is scurred he might get loud.

Audiopulse » Myths About Subwoofers

This myth has been busted many years ago.

You have one 12 in a 7.85 cu ft enclosure? Explain this non sense?
Space makes bass. I wouldn't go much more than 5 cube for a 12 though.... you reach a point of diminishing returns from increasing box size.

Yeah it looks cool.I'm sure it would be louder in the correct enclosure though.Btw my 18 hits every note i need it to and i listen to 90% rock and metal. To each his own.

Good luck.
