when/what makes u need an extra battery?

when do u need an extra battery? if ur over a certain amount of watts? high amperage pull from the amps? im not there yet. just curious

If voltage drop at the amp is bad. With big stuff, you need a battery bank by the amp.

Is rms usually half of peak? Or if say an amp says 2000 watts, would that be peak and rms be 1000? (If it's pushing rated)

Most people here don't know what Peak/Max is!!! Neither should you, forget that peak/max rating ever existed. If an quality amp is 2k watts then yes, it will produce 2k and maybe a whole lot more. You also have junk out there with a 2k label and a 30a fuse on the side which will never see 400 watts even if it were connected to a nuclear power plant

Always follow rms never think of peak or max.
