Whats wrong with subwoofer?

I just installed my id12v3.2 into this amp http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&PartNumber=263-938&DID=7 wired in series and this subs is not thumping or playing to its potential. I had circuit city installed it for me and they say its the amp not putting much power to the subs and that i needed a bigger amp to feed this subwoofer. Is this true because my amp is rated at 250watts X1 at 4ohm and my sub is a dual 2 ohm wired in series to get 4ohm load. Why is the sub not hitting. It hits but seems like it need more power to it. Is it my amp not giving enough watts to the sub.

Well it is only a 250 watt speaker. You can't expect to much output. What type of box are you using? Sealed ported?

You have 250 watts on a 1000 watt speaker. You need more power...

Well the guys who install it at cc set the gains half way for boost , hpf at 45hz

Is there a subsonic filter on that amp?

Also, try raising the lowpass filter frequency some. Try 60-80hz.

Yea i had it lpf around 60-80 still sounds like a midbass.
