What's wrong with my setup?

I am running a Pioneer DEH-11E headuint, Pioneer TS-G671M speakers, Pioneer 7300m 800watt amp, and 2 Sony Xplod 1100 watt 10" subs in a sealed box. My car just doesn't hit or sound quiet as good as a friend of mine and his amp/subs are less powerful! What am I doing wrong? I checked the volts on the amp and it is 12.51v while my battery is 12.59v, very small difference. I am running 4 gauge power and ground and 16 gauge speaker wire to the subs. Thank you.

is your friends box ported ??? porting makes the setup effiecent (sp?) lol which means he can use less power

You probably just need to adjust everything correctly... headunit settings, amp settings, etc. plus we need way more info to try to guess why. what car, enclosure size, etc.

see bold for what is wrong with your setup... If you can buy it at Wal-Mart, don't buy it at all

You bought it all at walmart for 100 dollars. You got what you paid for. Sony=fail. low end pioneer=fail. 12v with the car running=fail. Sealed boxes when going for spl=fail. You basically did everything wrong. Instead of asking questions, just look around. Read. Silently stalk the forums... probably of SSA as they have the most informative car audio forums to date and learn all you can. Then go bargain hunting for some good brands. You're going to spend at least 500 for something that is decent.

Haha. It is a 96 Pontiac Firebird. The enclosure is 12.5 x 11.5 x 33.5. My friends isn't ported. He has a more expensive pioneer headunit, apline subwoofer 125 watt and a auidobahn amp, 400watts

I wasn't asking for a flame of the parts I have. I was just asking if maybe I needed larger gauge wire or something. And the 12 volts was with the car off.

even sony xplods should be decently loud in a firebird. keep playing with all your settings i mentioned before. if you arent happy then build a ported box.

and your amp isnt big enough. what ohm are your subs. the amp puts out 360 watts at 2 ohms

you need more power, not bigger wire.
