Whats wrong with edead?

I finished up installing edead v1 on my trucks floor, as well as brownbread(b quiet ultimate). I used a bit of spectrum sludge as well, and am in between coats of edead v3 right now. I just did a search on the forums and all I found were a bunch of negative comments on all of ED's deadening products. Whats the deal?

I have used fatmat, brownbread, dynamat extreme, and now edead v1 and cant say a single bad thing about any of them really. Fatmat the worst definantly, but its still holding out with no problems after 9 months now(including this 100+ summer here in texas). I would totally use edead and brownbread again, they both stuck with no problem, were easy to apply.

Spectrum sludge went on amazingly, just grab a handfull and spread it. dried mostly overnight, with the exception of a couple small spots that its a little thick, but they will be fine by this afternoon.

The edead v3 is going on really nicely, drying plenty fast, and a little bit is going a long way. I had 1 full gallon of it when I started, covered about 12 sq foot so far with one nice layer and it is still 4/5's full.

So again, ive gotta ask, whats the deal with people picking on edead, and ED's deadening products?

Not trying to start a pointless arguement here, I just want to hear real reasons people arent liking it, from people who have actually used it. All ive found in the search engien is negative comments, no real reasons given.

it's been falling off my trunk lid and doesn't really do much for rattles. (but it's only 1 layer as well). also peeling off my doors and just got a smudge on my new window tint. and i have a trunk leak so it's all gotta come out anyways. i would've rather used an actual damplifier product than this deadening or at least use this on top of a damplifier.

secondskin was the highly recommended product out there and even tested #1.

idk. i also have edead v1se so that's a difference as well.

its alright if you ask me, hasnt fallen off, but neither has the Peal & Seal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The company is ran by a prick though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

This is all applied on my floor, with the exception of some that went on the back cab wall, where it wont have any liquid deadener on it. The liquids are only being used on the floor right now. I dont think I will have much trouble with it peeling since the fatmat dident peel, and that stuff dident have too great of an adhesive compared to the edead and brown bread. Hell, even the fatmat that was on the cab wall, no heat, just rolled on never came off after nearly a whole summer.

Since its applied mostly to the floor, if it does peel, I dont think its going to fall very far //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

PS: Keep the feedback on edead coming, good or bad.

Secondskin has gotten great reviews all around, and you can't even compare the CS from ED to SS. I installed their damplifier pro and couldn't be happier. Well . . . . I would be happier if my hands didn't get all jacked up in the process.

Second skin is the best, just really expensive stuff tho.

I have the original eDead in my car. It looks, smells, and performs WORSE than gutter repair tape wich can be found for significantly less. I also have gutter repair tape and it has worked BETTER than eDead. If the point is for the deading product to 1) stick 2) add weight....and it does neither very well, why use it?? This is covered very well in the sounddeadenershowdown.

I cannot speak for their butyl based products.

I also have a gal of SS Sludge and I think it's a great product

I also have Dynamat Extreme in and on my doors and it is an excellent product.

I also have high temp polymeric damping sheets and the do excellent on flat surfaces.

The next time I open my doors I'm taking pictures. I will them post them in a thread entilted "Why eDead sucks ***"!! Call me a hater, that's fine. I have the only nonbiased scientific analysis (that i know of) of the efficacy of the product standing right behind me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif:p:

So my experience is not limited to peal n seal....IE EDEAD....and I can tell you that it is a waste of money!!!!

I have my whole trunk done with edead V1 se and its been holding for a year already.....no problems at all.......still using them in my trunk.....I guess ppl who has bad experience with them are jus haters....lol

you cant just slap the deadening on your doors and trunk lid and expect it to stay //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Take your time and use a heat gun. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

v1 and v2 are just rebranded peel n seal for the most part. And they dont stick well. Asphalt based crap

They're newest is buytl based but I still wont buy it. Rather get damplifier for the pricepoint.
