I am going to be replacing the factory speakers in my 2009 Corolla (6.5's in front / 6x9's in back) and powering them with a Rockford 4.6X. I've been looking at several brands but wanted to know if anyone had any experience with any of them, here's what I looked at:

Rockford P1694 6x9 / P1653 6.5

Polk Audio DB691 6x9 / DB651 6.5

Alpine SPS-609 6x9 / SPS-600 6.5

Infinity Reference 9633cf 6x9 / 6032cf 6.5

RE Audio RE6X9FR 6x9 / RE6.5FR 6.5

If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.

I have a nice pair of almani 6x9s ill give you for 50 shipped, they blow away most any of those and they are way cheaper.

they are new in the box, bought them for the gf then she slept with another man.

otherwise i like the alpines if you can find them cheap, but there are other brands that i like for cheaps too, check out what cadence has to offer. I had a nice set of 45 dollar 5 1/4s that came with crossovers and adjustable tweets. DONT BUY FROM BEST BUY YOULL GET RIPPED OFF.

these Almanis are the shizzle dude get em... I used to sell Almani til they went out of business and they are better than anything you listed by alot!!!

but the Almanis are still better... those are 5 series.... they take gobs of power and as far as oval speakers go they are 1 of the best oval coaxs around for under 150$

they get nasty loud and have tons of clean midbass response.

I've looked at cadence but was unsure whether they were decent or not, what about these:

Cadence ZRS-69S 6x9 / ZRS-65KS 6.5 (Comp)

I found them pretty cheap.

Phoenix Gold RSD 6'' or 6.5'' 2way components can be found for $60-80 on eBay. The tweeters are a little bright, but they have great midbass & are about the nicest speakers you'll find new for that price.

yes Bob is right the PG RSD are very nice for the price

as far as power the Almanis do not need alot they have a higher sensitivity than alot of Bostons... they run well on deck power and wake up hardcore on 50-125 rms.. very broad range for power needs..

a set of comps in the rear is pretty much a waste IMO for most people ( even tho I have them but it is in a MINIvan and for my kids pleasure ) but for the front the PG RSD and almani in the rear as fill would do very well...
