whats going on?

alright last night i had to take my step dad to traffic school and i was getting off the exit and when i started to break my car started missing and died. but started right back up no smoke or anything. then when i went to pick him up it done it 3 more times. what could this be. he told me that it needed to be idled up but idk.. what do you guys think.. i think it might be the head gasket

What kind of vehicle is it. Make Model Year motor. so on. When you fire it up now does it seem likes its missing right now just sitting in the drive way?

head gasket... Idles rough oil leaking in where it shouldn't ie spark plugs.. check that..
