Thats why I run all Audiobahn.

But Im thinking about going with all Eminence on this next install. Ill still use my Audiobahn amps though of course.

When you say high power sub , can you give me a range on what you mean you , is

500 rms high ?

1000 rms ?

1500 rms ?

2000 rms ?

please give a range

3inch coil, 1500watts rms, high excursion, same as alot of other woofers, but, cheaper... if you cant do that, dont bother.

I buy a woofer based on reviews and real world experience. That and those ~$20 ebay impulse buys that end up working out beautifully for me. =) I don't care what power it needs since most woofers take less than 2 kilowatts and I can produce just about any amount under 2 kilowatts. Right now I have a single Beals 8 and a JBL BP150.1 (150 wrms) in my trunk that's almost audible.

If I were to make a sub, I'd try to appeal to a lower end market. There are enough ~$250 1 kilowatt subs on the market to make your head spin. But if you get in the $100-$150 400-600 watt range you get what? 4, 5 options? I'd like to see a sub for $100 shipped that's got good SQ and takes more abuse than a derby car. If only IA still sold direct.

My intention is simple while having fun i would like to produce some sub and test the market

Power rating is just part of the info you gather to see what you need ,

and i agree that a sub should be judge by it sound .

I don't EVER look at power ratings when I buy a sub. I will buy a sub based on other stats and experiences from myself and others. Once I purchase the sub, I'll worry about getting it the power it needs.

I don't think there's any one or even collection of specs that determine what a woofer's capable of. Sure, it gives you an idea, but you won't know until you get it installed and working. To me a good idea would be to start with a parts list that gives promising T/S parameters, and then work by ear.
