What would you reccomend for my electrical system?

Well I am about to install my system. Everything is listed in my sig. I was planning on using 2 Batcap 400s since ive heard good things about them from some people i trust, however I have also read that they arent really worth the money. So if you had the setup I am going to be running what would you run to have a stable electrical system?

Sorry if this is n00bish, its my first system so im still learning.

I contacted Nathan and he said he CANNOT make an Alt for me and I would need to send him mine and have him mod it. So what are some other options since I cant be without a car for a few weeks with shipping and everything.

DUDE you do NOT need a HO alternator running a 4150/1500.....and dont run any caps, thats for the birds....

What car are you putting this into? size of Alternator?

Its a VW Passat, im not sure what size the stock one is however IIRC it is not a tiny one. I WANT to say its a 150a stock, but im not 100%

What would you reccomend I do?

Is your OEM maintenance free? How old is it? For example my OEM started chuggling water and later noticed dimming as it hurts the charging system. Got an Optima YT, everythings dandy.

Cant believe anyone would recommend a HO alty without knowing the scenario. Those things affect a vehicles ECU BTW and the way your vehicle behaves comparted to stock- no simple plug n play.

The car is a 2001.5 so that makes the battery about 4 years old. I havent noticed anything wrong with it though.

I would say at that age, take the $$ that you'd put into one of those Batcap400's

and better put into into a YT, Marine battery, or other AF battery of choice. Deep cell if you dont want to ever worry about hgaving suystem on when car off, or accidentally leave a light on and you can still crank the car up in the morning.

As for the wiring, considering you are running two amps that demand a 4ga for themselves, you should be running 1/0 ga for power wire- so 1/0 ga for battery to ground, chassis to ground, and alt lead to battery.
